NSW: 21 new clinical staff for south-west Sydney hospitals=2

NSW Health Minister Morris Iemma said the five whistleblower nurses, who first aired
claims of unsafe and inadequate care by staff at the two hospitals, had all received an
apology from the state government for their treatment.

"They've all been issued with an apology," Mr Iemma told reporters.

"They've all been made an offer of a return to work in the health system, whether it's
at Campbelltown or another hospital."

He said two of the five nurses had informed the government they would not lodge a statement
of claim against the government until an independent inquiry into their allegations had
been completed.

The three other nurses were in the process of compiling a statement of claim, he said.
