QLD:Memo reveals more on uni nepotism scandal

Premier ANNA BLIGH says Vice Chancellor PAUL GREENFIELD's departure over a nepotism
scandal will give the University of Queensland a chance for a fresh start.

Professor GREENFIELD will leave today, more than six months before his original resignation date.

He and deputy vice-chancellor MICHAEL KENIGER initially resigned after a probe found
irregularities in the enrolment of a student known to them.

The student, who has never been named, is a close relative of Professor GREENFIELD.

Ms BLIGH says it's a matter for the university to deal but it puts them in a position
where they can advertise and bring on a new vice chancellor to provide fresh leadership
next year.
